The Hackesche Höfe, comprising eight courtyards, is an Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) masterpiece built in 1906. The ensemble of courtyards is filled with apartments, fashion shops, galleries and restaurants. You will gain an inside view into quintissential Berlin ambience. Back in the Roaring 20's the complex also housed Oriental restaurants, varieté theaters and wine-bars. You will discover what remains from that period and what is new. The tour guides you through the Hackesche Höfe, the Sophie-Gips-Höfe, Kunst-Höfe and the Heckmann Höfe next to the New Synagogue.
